Antique French Linen Pillowcase Pair; Winter White
A pair of Oxford style pillowcases to fit two standard pillows (shown, but not included). Please note the images with the hat shows the actual pillowcases. This is to demonstrate the lovely colour, which is a bright natural off-white.
Constructed from an antique French linen heirloom sheet in a pale winter white colour. This is the plain end left after the embroidered end is used to create one of the linen robes. Part of our drive towards zero waste from the studio. A medium weight linen with a wonderful drape and handle. A gorgeous texture, cool and comfortable against the skin. The quality of these rare to find antique linens is extraordinary and they just get better each time they are laundered.
Enclosed seam construction throughout for comfort and durability. All top stitching is done using pure unwaxed linen thread, so if you should want to dye them the thread should take the colour in the same way as the fabric.
The ingredients Please be aware that these unique pieces are created from antique and vintage textiles, which have had a previous life, so consequently there may be the odd minor smudge or mark to the surface. These in no way impinge on their beauty, and you can be sure that they do not compromise the integrity of the material. Our textiles are cleaned and checked for flaws prior to making, and we cut around any significant marks.
Any area of actual damage or thinning is repaired with a tiny embroidered patch using a visible mending technique (one of my favourite features!), and this is always clearly mentioned in the description. These should be seen as an enhancement to the piece, and a sign of the textile's previous life and history.
This is a deliberate choice to fit in with our ethos of creating beautiful items with minimal impact on the planet.

Care; This linen can be machine or hand washed, and should be dried naturally on the line. It’s preferable to use a detergent designed for delicate fabrics, and don’t use a fabric softener.
Sustainability Every time a Pavilion Parade order is placed a donation is made via Ecologi to fund the planting of a tree and make a positive net contribution to combatting climate change. The trees are environmentally high value and part of gold standard schemes designed and managed to benefit local communities.
Packaging Items are dispatched in acid free tissue paper and recyclable cardboard boxes sealed with kraft paper eco tape. These are placed inside pouches for weather protection during transit which are made entirely from an environmentally friendly compostable bio-plastic created from sugar-cane.
