Flight of Fancy; Beaded Net Evening Gown
A rather impractical Flight of Fancy. The weight of the glass beading (just over 2 kg) and the length of the train makes this gown somewhat difficult to wear for occasions where much actual walking around is required. It is also a tiny size, a UK 6/8 ( US 2/4). It would however make the most spectacular costume piece, or looks fabulous in photo shoots so would be ideal for a film or video stylist to add to their wardrobe portfolio.
Created in the old Brighton studio from a length of couture beaded net carefully pieced and seamed to follow the lines of the figure. Silvery graphite coloured glass seed and bugle beads on a pale honey tulle, it can be worn over a separate pale coloured slip (not supplied), or nude bodysuit for an even more dramatic look.
I've included an image to show how it looks over a rose-pink silk slip.
The dress closes at the back with a long row of little Swarovski crystal buttons and worked thread loops, which accentuate the curve of the spine.
The skirt extends into a train.
Constructed with all internal seams kept very narrow and bound with net to be as unobtrusive as possible .
This is a sample that has been used in a couple of photo shoots. There are a small number of missing or loose beads here and there but you’d have to look very hard to find them. This is reflected in a lower price than if it was completely unworn.
The ingredients This unique piece is created from a specially comissioned contemporary couture textile.

I have given the actual garment measurements below so you can ascertain for yourself how it will work with your own measurements. Remember to double the bodice figures to give maximum circumferences, and whilst this gown is meant to be close fitting, remember to allow an amount of ease over your particular body measurements and to allow for a fine slip (not included) to be worn underneath....these delicate fabrics should not be squeezed into or too much strain will be put on the seams.
**A polite request to please not order to see if you can fit into it if the measurements below make you suspect it will realistically be too tight. Attempting to fit into it in these circumstances is liable to cause damage which in turn means you won't be able to return it for a refund**

Dress length options; In order to accomodate people of varying heights I have created the pieces long. It is not a straightforward shortening job to alter the length as once it is cut all the beads around the hem need to be secured ....but the front could be shortened by up to 3 inches here at the studio before dispatch for an additional fee of £40.
Care; This beaded net gown should be hung to air after each use, but not dry-cleaned.

Packaging Garments are dispatched in acid free tissue paper and recyclable cardboard boxes sealed with kraft paper eco tape. These are placed inside pouches (for weather protection during transit) which are made entirely from an environmentally friendly compostable bio-plastic created from sugar-cane.
