Flight of Fancy; Embroidered Silk Organza Evening Skirt

Description

Originally started in the old Brighton studio from finest quality couture changeant silk organza, and I’ve just gotten around to finishing it! A translucent shimmering slightly irridescent effect with a luxurious firm but light drape in a lovely pewter shade that varies in changing light from silvery to dove grey tones. Hand embroidered with silk ribbons and threads hand dyed to various harmonious tints. 

A full circle skirt, caught into a neat narrow waistband, and shaped to extend into a romantic train at the back. It sits in voluminous folds below the hip but is always light and fluid with plenty of airy movement. The embroidered top layer sits over a plain under-layer in the same pewter silk organza, and the whole is fully lined in charcoal silk habutai. Closes at back with concealed zip and silk button.  

This is a one-off unrepeatable piece that I have finally gotten around to finishing. An opportunity to acquire a brand new couture quality piece at a reduced price as I now from choice very rarely make this type of garment.

 

Sizing 

These are the actual garment measurements, so please allow a small amount of ease over your particular body measurements.

Waist circumference; 76ams / 30” (*see note below)

Front waist to hem; 115cms / 45”

Back waist to end of train; 153cms / 60”

Shown pinned to fit at waist on a UK size 8 mannequin. 

 *these are the measurements of the skirt as is, but there is the potential to adjust the waist size by plus or minus 10cms / 4”. Reducing the waist size does not affect the length, but increasing the waist size would result in a shorter length ( by about 2” for the maximum waist increase). In addition, it is possible to shorten the skirt from the top if required, this would mean drawing the extra fullness into the waistband resulting in a little extra fullness from the waist down. 

If you would like me to adjust the waist and/or shorten the length then please let me know the finished waist size and/or how much length you want me to take off, in the notes area at checkout. There is no additional charge for this,  but if altered it cannot be returned once purchased. 

Construction The skirt has a full silk lining. 

As with all of the Pavilion Parade pieces, the quality of the finish is paramount, with French and bound seams throughout (no overlocking) to ensure both a comfortable wear and a long life. 

Care; This structured silk skirt should be dry-cleaned only. 

Sustainability Every time a Pavilion Parade piece is purchased a donation is made via Ecologi to fund the planting of a tree and make a positive net contribution to combatting climate change. The trees are environmentally high value and part of gold standard schemes designed and managed to benefit local communities.

Packaging Dresses are dispatched in acid free tissue paper and recyclable cardboard boxes sealed with kraft paper eco tape. These are placed inside pouches for weather protection during transit which are made entirely from an environmentally friendly compostable bio-plastic created from sugar-cane.
