Cabbage Rose Skirt: Japanese Yuwa Floral

Description

A very full skirt with deep slanted side pockets and the front fullness pleated into a neatly fitted wide waistband and the rear gathered into a slight bustle effect with an elasticated panel. The fullness can be emphasised by wearing with a petticoat, or left relaxed by wearing on its own.
Closes at side with concealed zip and button loop.
Hand felled hem.
Created from a vintage length of romantic cabbage rose print from premium Japanese fabric designers Yuwa, renowned for their traditional floral prints on natural fibres. A heavier weight cotton, or cotton/linen mix, in soft rose pinks, sage and stone on a gently faded charcoal black ground.

IMPORTANT: Please be sure to read both our shipping and refund policy pages before placing an order (links to both at foot of page). By placing an order you are indicating you have read and accepted these terms.

Sizing As the fit of all these garments is meant to be relaxed it provides some flexibility on sizing.

I have designated this a medium size. It is graded to a UK 14, but the double stitched elasticated  element to the rear waistband means it could work across a limited range of waist sizes.
Shown pinned to fit on a size UK10 mannequin.

I have given the actual garment measurements below so it is very important you ascertain for yourself how it will work with your own measurements. Remember to allow an amount of room over your particular body measurements where appropriate.

Unexpanded waistband; 30” / 77 cms

Fully stretched waistband; 33” / 84.5 cms

Waistband top to finished hem 34” / 87 cms (hem turnover is 2” / 5.5 cms)

 Construction

As with all of the Pavilion Parade Vestments pieces, the quality of the finish is paramount, with French and bound seams throughout (no overlocking) to ensure both a comfortable wear and a long life.

Each of these pieces is created from vintage 100% natural fibres. The design is very considered, with the cut engineered to make the best use of the textile.  I will spend some hours before cutting trying out different pattern layouts to ensure the most pleasing finished effect.

Care; Whilst it is fine to dry-clean these garments I would always urge a gentle hand wash instead where possible. Or a delicate cycle in the washing machine to best prolong the life and colour. Much better for the environment.

A press with a warm iron on the cotton setting will bring your garment up beautifully, or you can just leave if you prefer a slightly more crumpled look.

The ingredients Please be aware that these unique pieces are created from vintage textiles, which have had a previous life, so consequently there may be the odd very minor smudge or tiny catch to the surface of the fabric. These in no way impinge on their beauty, and you can be sure that they do not compromise the integrity of the material. Any little area of actual damage or thinning is repaired with a tiny embroidered patch (one of my favourite features!), and this is always clearly mentioned in the description.

Sustainability Every time a Pavilion Parade piece is purchased a donation is made via Ecologi to fund the planting of a tree and make a positive net contribution to combatting climate change. The trees are environmentally high value and part of gold standard schemes designed and managed to benefit local communities.

Packaging  Garments are dispatched in acid free tissue paper and recyclable cardboard boxes sealed with kraft paper eco tape. These are placed inside pouches for weather protection during transit which are made entirely from an environmentally friendly compostable bio-plastic created from sugar-cane.
